In 2022, we are looking forward to seeing everybody in Dresden, whose wonderful Baroque architecture has earned it the title the “Jewel Box” of Germany. Situated on the river Elbe in the heart of central Europe, it is a place steeped in history and surrounded by places of great historical significance for sport horse breeding, such as the beautiful state studs of Moritzburg and Graditz. What a wonderful way to celebrate being able to see each other again in person after a long time of separation.
We hope you enjoy our little video tour of the many beautiful places and sights you can visit in Dresden and its surrounding areas.
It has been a long wait, with more than a few changes of plan, but finally we are on the home-stretch to the annual meetings in Dresden Germany, originally planned for 2020.
Herewith the WBFSH and President Jan Pedersen warmly invite all its members and associates to participate at this year's annual meetings.
On Sunday 9th October, the meetings will open with a Welcome Cocktail hosted by the DSP. The coming days will be filled with seminars and presentations covering topics ranging from changes in the industry due to megatrends of the future, sport longevity – a study in young horses, and linear profiling to mention just a few items to expect. There will be a seminar on handling and use of horses from an animal welfare perspective, and how this affects the start of training young horses. A welfare workshop connected to this seminar will form part of the program. And of course there will be opportunities to network during the various cultural activities, such as a visit to the historic state stud of Moritzburg, the Graditz Stud, Schloss Proschwitz, and the beautiful city of Dresden itself.
For those who want to experience opera at the magnificent Dresden Semper Oper, "La Traviata" by Guiseppe Verdi will be playing during the month of October. Bookings are to be made individually via the Semper Oper online booking link (please scroll down).
