In just under two and a half months, the world’s best young dressage horses come together once again at the Dressage World Breeding Championships in Ermelo (NED). So diarise the 8th to the 11th of September!
Studbook selections are under way, and nominated entries close on 8th August 2022, with the deadline for definite entries on 19th August 2022.
The updated guidelines for the FEI-WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championships were published earlier this year, with the quotas for each of the age categories (5-year-olds, 6-year-olds and 7-year-olds).
The event kicks off on Wednesday 7th September, with the first and second horse inspections for the 5-year-old horses. On Thursday morning the qualifier for the 5-year-old takes place. In the afternoon and evening the vet check for the 6 and 7-year olds takes place, and they first enter the arena on Friday 9th September.
Tickets can be purchased via the Ermelo Young Horse website
Given that Covid-19 could still play a role, the FEI’s approval of a schedule should not be taken as an absolute guarantee that the event will definitely go ahead. The decision whether the World Breeding Championships can take place must be made by the OC and NF, in close consultation with the applicable domestic government and public health authorities. Therefore, we urge everyone to check in on the status of the event prior to planning travel, in case any changes need to be made.
We look forward to seeing you in at the National Equestrian Center in Ermelo!
